We, at Willowlake, feel lead to make significant changes to our anticipated 2027 SENT Kenya mission trip. We have made the hard decision not to partner with CBM’s SENT program, and see God leading us away from a trip to Kenya in 2027, in part due to the unexpected delays in planning this trip, and in part due to the anticipated political climate next year. We are entering into a season of discernment on what is next, but feel confident on a few matters:
- We do believe God is calling us, as a church, to be “SENT” into the world beyond our own borders. We are prayerfully considering our own resources and opportunities as we discern where and when this might be.
- While the door to go to Kenya in 2027 with CBM’s SENT might have closed, we see God opening other doors for a future mission trip. One possibility is to go to Kenya in 2028 to partner with an orphanage we have personal connections with.
- We have invited interested parties to come together to pray, discern, and plan for what might be next in God’s heart for our missions partnerships in the near future.
We look forward to God’s leading in this regard.
