We’re pleased to be part of a team bringing Discovery Time Bible lessons to Shamrock School each Wednesday lunch hour.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Students may only attend with parent permission. Get a permission form here.
- We petition the school board annually for the priviledge of running religious education classes in a public school, and require at least 25 parent signatures annually to make that happen. Sign our 2025 petition here.
- All our volunteers are thoroughly screened, including having a valid criminal record check and child abuse registry check.
- We appreciate the support of Child Evangelism Fellowship in setting up & supporting Discovery Time, however, we do not follow their curriculum. Rather, our team teaches through a Bible story each month and finds games, songs and icebreakers that support the Bible lessons.
- We teach non-denominational lessons, and while we know children have deep questions about life and faith, we direct sensitive questions to be answered by parents or their home church rather than in a public group setting. If you do not have a home church, we’d be happy to connect with you to help find a church in the neighbourhood.
- A typical lunch time looks like this:
- 11:30-12:00 eat lunches & chat
- 12:00 – song time
- 12:05 – icebreaker game
- 12:10 – Bible story
- 12:15 – object lesson/Bible tie-in
- 12:20 – memory verse/wrap-up game
- 12:25 – back to class!
Currently, Pastor Kirsten of Willowlake Church leads the Discovery Time team, so send any completed forms or any questions to or call (204) 256-2923.
